With the help of artificial insemination, scientists are trying to save the Northern White Rhino.
The southern white rhino is the only rhino species not to be endangered, it would be a step away from the fall after a San Diego-based organization for the conservation of nature, said that it achieved the first successful artificial insemination, the birth of a southern white rhinoceros in North America.
The San Diego Zoo Global, said that Victoria just gave birth to a healthy male calf on Sunday at the San Diego Zoo and the Safari Park the next 30 minutes of work.
“All of us at the San Diego Zoo Global is thrilled with the arrival of a very special rhino calf,” Barbara Durrant, director of reproductive science at the San Diego Zoo Global, told the Associated Press.

IN SUDAN, THE WORLD’S LAST MALE NORTHERN WHITE RHINO, DIED FROM AGE-RELATED COMPLICATIONS”
Victoria was artificially inseminated with deep-frozen semen to the southern white rhino, Maoto, in March of 2018. She was carrying a calf, for a total of 493 days, and they will bond with each other, away from the crowd.
In the end, the male calf, yet unnamed, will be introduced to the other five women had on the Nikita Kahn, the Rhino Rescue Center, and more.

“Not only are we grateful to have a healthy calf, but this birth is significant because it represents a major step forward in our effort to save the northern white rhino from the brink of extinction,” Durrant added.
White rhinos are considered Near Threatened, according to the World wildlife Fund. It is estimated that between 19,600 – 21,000 animals exist in protected areas and private game reserves.
The northern white rhino, of which there are only two female left-hand side of the Earth, which is considered to be a subspecies of the southern white rhino. In March 2018, is the last surviving male northern white rhino, “in Sudan, death in the age-related complications” at the age of 45 years.
White rhinos can live to an age between 40 and 50 years of age.

Scientists are currently working to try to save the critically endangered northern white rhinos from extinction, including the use of the southern white rhino as a substitutes.
In November, researchers at the uk’s University of Cardiff, and the University of Venda in South Africa, analyzed genetic samples from 232, the rhino, and discovered that, despite the fact that the populations of northern and southern white rhinos split from the more than one million years ago, which they have sometimes shared genes.
The researchers say that the genes are usually divided, during the hot and dry spells, as recently as 14,000 years ago, when the African grasslands expanded. “When you look at the white rhino, the population of the world, we have been able to establish that there was contact between the northern and southern white rhino populations in its history,” said Dr. Isa-Rita Russo from the University of Cardiff, in November 2018, with a declaration of the announcement of the results.

The AP reports that researchers have been very optimistic about the northern white rhino calf is born in these processes and, within 10 to 20 years of age.
In May, scientists at the Polish zoo-Chorzow, and with the success of a procedure, where they are transferred to the north rhino test tube embryos to go back into a female southern white rhino, of which the eggs were fertilized in vitro. However, the embryo is transferred to the Chorzow zoo, it is smaller than I expected. It remains to be seen whether the implant into the mother’s uterine lining and result in a pregnancy.
“There are a lot of technical problems will be solved, but it will take a long time,” Cesare Galli, from which it specialises in the artificial reproduction of horses, she told the AP in June.
In April, Zoo Miami welcomed the birth of the first rhino ever conceived by induced ovulation and artificial insemination.
