A runner participating in a 5K race at Walt Disney World, collapsed and died on Friday morning, officials at the Florida theme park have been confirmed.
The athlete, who has not been named, was part of the 3.1 miles to Disney, Fall Festival race, which is part of the annual Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend will be on Fox 35 reports. The Fall Festival race was held at Epcot Center
“We are deeply saddened by this heartbreaking loss, our thoughts and feelings, keep track of the runner’s family and loved ones during this difficult time,” Walt Disney World spokesperson Andrea Finger told Fox News on Saturday.

Officials for Disney to have released information about the victim’s cause of death, or age, of WESH, reports. People between the ages of 5 and up, were more than welcome to take part in the race, according to RunDisney.
The unnamed athlete, participated in the 3.1 miles to Disney, Fall Festival race at this year’s annual Disney Wine and Dine Half-Marathon Weekend, when the tragedy struck, Fox 35 reports.
The weekend’s races were scheduled to continue with a 10K on Saturday morning. An estimated 15,000 runners are expected to compete in a half marathon event in the Sunshine State, the resort on Sunday, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
