CHICAGO – A 12-year-old Michigan girl spending the summer in Chicago is fatally shot, just a few hours after attending a cousin’s eighth grade graduation.
Family members at the hospital determined that the girl, “but O’Flynn of covert, Michigan. She was shot in the neck while getting a car on Thursday evening, apparently was an unintended victim was shot during a party in West Garfield Park.
The police says there are no arrests.
Them’but’ s mother, She’vaughn O’Flynn, tells the Chicago Tribune that her daughter was a good student, who loved playing football. She’but was planning to spend the summer in Chicago with relatives.
A 36-year-old man has been injured. The husband of the mother, Linda Riley-Bailey, says Chicago violence is too much. She says, “They are killing our future.”
