The number of hepatitisdoden in the European Union between 2011 and 2016, with 16 per cent, reports statistics agency Eurostat Friday morning. It covers all five forms of viral hepatitis.
Of the 5.1 million people in the European Union in 2016 will have been 6.600 cases, it is caused by the hepatitisvirussen. This equates to an average of thirteen fatalities per million inhabitants, or 16%, in less than fifteen deaths per million population in 2011.
About the same number of men and women are victims of abuse. Especially the elderly, may be affected by it. At 64 per cent, of the cases the patient was over the age of 65.
In Italy, all died, most of the people in the hepatitisvirussen. There fell 2.745 kill it in 2016. The netherlands had in that year of 43 fatalities hepatitisslachtoffers.
A number of three deaths per one million inhabitants, is the Netherlands, Slovenia, and Finland is the EU country with the lowest number of deaths per million inhabitants.
