The netherlands will disappear from leaderboards with fastest internet
The average internet speed in the Netherlands has increased less than in many other countries. As a result, the Netherlands is no longer in the top lists with internet connections.
This is apparent from the State of the Internet report by internet company Akamai, internet performance worldwide under the microscope.
In the past few years, the growth of the internet speed in the Netherlands with 8.7 percent, to 17 Mbps. Thus grew the speed in the Netherlands is the slowest. In Ireland, however, there was a decline, where the speed with 18 percent went down.
The internet speed increased the most in Norway and Croatia, where the speed, with 55 percent increased. The countries have, respectively, a speed of 20.1 and 7.7 Mbps.
Last year was the Netherlands in the top five countries with the fastest internet. In the meantime, however, we are not in any of the lists of Akamai.
On average, Dutch smartphone users to a mobile internet speed of 10.5 Mbps. That is about as fast as in Russia, South Korea and Italy.
The United Kingdom has the fastest mobile internet connections, with an average speed of 23,1 Mbps.
