The netherlands ends on eleventh place in wereldfinale Bocuse d’or
Chef Jan Smink and his team are not in the prices of cases in the wereldfinale of the prestigious Bocuse d’or Lyon in france. The Dutch delegation was eleventh during the race which is also known as the Olympics for chefs. The winner was the team of the United States.
The international culinary competition has been in existence since 1986. Founder is the famous French chef Paul Bocuse. Every two years, competing chefs from 24 countries to the title.
The 28-year-old Smink was hoping to advance with his team to a spot in the top 10, but he realized that it was going to be difficult since in other countries much time and money is invested in the training of the teams.
“Then you are talking about budgets of 2 to 3 million euro and they train for two years, five days a week,” he said before the ANP. The netherlands is not yet.
Jonnie Boer, president and member of the jury of Bocuse d’or Nederland, is proud of this result. “If you’re a country with about the smallest budget of all participating countries to re-eleventh of the world can be, then you are great.”
