The mysterious wedge-shaped, and elongated skull discovery sheds new light on the strange ancient rituals

The discovery of the mystery, pointed, and elongated skulls in the republic of Croatia it is shedding new light on the regions of the strange old rituals.

The Experts studied three skulls were excavated from a pit in the Osijek, in eastern Croatia, in may 2013. The skeleton, which dates back to the 5th and 6th centuries ad, the remains of the three teens and men. Experts are, however, intrigued by the unusual shape of its skull.

“We have been inspired to study these individuals on the basis of unusual burial context, as well as the identification of the two different types of artificial cranial deformation from the people,” says Daniel Fernandes, post-doctoral researcher at the Department of Evolutionary Anthropology, University of Vienna, and is one of the two lead authors of the study, in a statement.

Experts have pointed out that it was the skull that had been “extended slant,” and another one that had been “compressed and intensified.” The study also revealed that the skeletons were from a wide variety of areas.

“The results of ancient DNA analyses to show that the individual without the use of artificial cranial deformation, gives the main lines of West European origin, in the person of the elongated skulls have East Asian ancestry, and the third is in the Vicinity of the East connection-the ancestors,” said Ron Pinhasi, who heads the ancient DNA lab at the University of Vienna, who co-directed the study, in a statement.

Of the three, however, had similar diets, and their skeletons bore evidence of severe under-nutrition. Experts say that it is the intentional deformation of the skull, it is possible to have a way to differentiate themselves from their cultural identity.

The discovery suggests that the different groups are in close interaction, in some parts of the Central and Eastern european countries, he added.

Other projects in Europe were also at the unveiling of the secrets of the ancient burial grounds. Archaeologists, for example, it sheds new light on the mysterious medieval skeleton was discovered buried with a sword, axe, mace and knife at the Castle of Prague during the 1920s.
