The police department are reporting that the ages of those killed in the West Texas shooting range, 15 to 57.

A 29-year-old letter carrier, was one of seven people killed when a gunman opened fire on Saturday afternoon in the West Texas, the law enforcement arm of the Post office confirmed on Sunday.

The United States Postal Inspection Service (USPIS), announced in a statement, “The Post office is shocked and saddened by the events that occurred yesterday in the Midland-Odessa area. In particular, we mourn the loss of our postal family member, a letter carrier of Mary Granados, a 29-year-old, and we’re going to continue to keep her family in our thoughts.”

The Texas Department of Public Safety spokeswoman said the driver pointed a gun in the direction of the rear window of his car and fired a number of shots” at himself as if he were still on the move.

She told me that the shot hit one of the two troopers inside the patrol car, and the gunman took off and continued to shoot.

Investigators said the shooter had a criminal record and, according to online court records, he was arrested in 2001 in McLennan County, Texas, and charged with the offence of criminal trespass and evading arrest. According to the records, he is guilty of funds in a deferred prosecution agreement, in which the load has been waived, after he had served two years of probation.

The town marked the second mass shooting in Texas in a month’s time. A gunman killed 22 people in El Paso earlier in the month of August.
