DENVER – The Latest shooting in a suburb of Denver, left a sheriff’s deputy dead, four deputies and two citizens injured (all times are local):

Authorities in Colorado say one deputy has died and four others were injured along with two citizens in a shooting in a suburb of Denver.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said via Twitter that the shooting happened after deputies were called to the scene of a domestic disturbance in the Highlands Ridge early Sunday. The suspected shooter was also shot and is believed to be dead and “no longer a threat.”

The shooting happened at a complex of 16 km (28 miles) south of Denver.

A hospital where three people were taken for treatment, said the people suffering non-critical injuries. Another nearby hospital said it received four patients, but would not release their conditions.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said via her Twitter account that anyone who “were expelled from their homes” after the police were called to the shooting scene in Highlands Ranch and go to the East Ridge recreation center for shelter.

Earlier Sunday, the sheriff’s office said “multiple” delegates were wounded in the Copper Canyon Apartments after being called there to investigate a domestic disturbance.

No information was made available on their conditions or how many deputies were hurt. It was unclear whether someone else is injured.

It was also not immediately clear whether someone in custody.
