BROOKLYN, Iowa – The Latest in law enforcement activity that takes place in the Iowa dairy industry in the service of the man who is accused of the murder of the student Mollie Tibbetts (all times are local)
Immigration enforcement agents visit Iowa farms that are in the service and was the man who is accused of the murder of the student Mollie Tibbetts.
Agents of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, and the county sheriff ‘ s office for a period of two hours at Yarrabee Farms, Brooklyn, Iowa on Thursday morning.
Yarrabee Farms said in a statement that the federal government had asked for a visit to the farm Thursday. The company says agents met with employees and owners. The company says that the cooperation with the researchers. It says that it can’t provide additional details because the investigation is ongoing.
Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation spokesman Mitch Mortvedt said his agency’s officers were on the scene assisting the investigators of the Department of Homeland Security and ICE, which took the lead.
Federal, state and local agents are on the Iowa farm that are in the service and was the man who is accused of the murder of the student Mollie Tibbetts.
The agents of the Poweshiek County sheriff’s office, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the federal agencies were seen Thursday morning, Yarrabee Farms, Brooklyn, Iowa. She was looking around the property and talk with the employees.
It was not immediately clear if the agents were to investigate the livestock of the employment practices, the killing of the University of Iowa student, or both.
The authorities had no immediate response to questions.
The activity comes a day after The Associated Press reported that the defendant in Tibbetts’ death, Cristhian Bahena Rivera, worked on the farm with the name John Budd.
