PARKVILLE, Mo. – The Last four people who were shot dead in a Kansas City suburb Sunday night (all times are local):
The authorities say that one of the four adults found dead in a suburb of the Kansas City home killed the other three victims before killing himself.
Platte County Sheriff Mark Owen identified the gunman on Sunday deaths outside of Parkville as a 50-year-old Douglas Pauling. Owen said that investigators believe that he killed his mother, 73-year-old Sharmalee Pauling; her husband, 66-year-old Carl Deruyscher; and the 49-year-old Margaret Girard.
The Kansas City Star reports a 14-year-old girl escaped the shooting and called the police. She was the daughter of Douglas Pauling and Girard.
Owen has not released any information about a possible motive for the shooting.
Two men and two women have been fatally shot in suburban Kansas City home, authorities say.
The Platte County Sheriff’s Office said the bodies were found late in the night of Sunday to Monday in an upscale area just outside of Parkville. The police would not say whether the shooter is among the dead, although the researchers are not looking for a suspect and no one is in custody, The Kansas City Star reports.
A dispatcher can be heard on caught police scanner communications to say that a teenager was reporting that her father had a gun had fired at her and shot another family member. The researchers haven’t said how the victims are related or released their names. The coordinator said the 14-year-old girl indicated that the victims would be in the dining room.
The girl was able to get out of the house for a SWAT team, made his way inside and found the victims. Capt. Jeffery Shanks, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office, says she is being questioned, but it is not considered a suspect.
