According to the U.s. tax authorities, the late Aretha Franklin still has an outstanding debts of 5.5 million euros. There is also a fine of a million on top of due to non-payment.
According to David Bennett, the lawyer of the heirs of Franklin, the singer most of her debt are still alive paid off.
“The legacy of mrs Franklin is now working on the ongoing issues to deal with,” said Bennett compared to TMZ.
A former lawyer of the singer believes that the debt is incurred in the period between 2012 and 2018. He is right also in the heirs with invoices from the same years who never paid in. It would go to an amount of 50,000 euro.
Franklin would reportedly be a legacy of an estimated 70 million euros. The singer had no will drawn up for her death, causing the family considerable argument about the distribution of the money.
