JOPPA, Md. – The Last at a funeral of a Maryland police officer (all times are local):
Killed Maryland police officer Amy Caprio is laid to rest.
Her funeral procession included a stream of police cars with their lights flashing. Two fire engines held an American flag above the road on a section of the route. Spectators were standing on a bridge over a part of the procession of the route of a church in Joppa to the cemetery in Timonium.
News media report that the officers of Maryland and the neighboring states attended the fallen officer’s funeral. Bagpipes and drums played as Caprio’s flag-draped coffin was borne ot of the church in the direction of the hearse.
The 29-year-old Caprio had served on the force nearly four years. She died Monday after being hit by a Jeep while responding to a call in Perry Hall. Sixteen-year-old Dawnta Anthony Harris is charged with first-degree murder in her death.

After the funeral, a procession will lead mourners from the church in Joppa to the cemetery in Timonium.
The governor of Maryland, Baltimore County police chief and the mother of a 29-year-old officer killed in the line of duty will be speaking at her funeral.

Her funeral service will be held on Friday morning in the Mountains of the Christian Church in Joppa.
Gov. Larry Hogan and Chief Bart Sheridan will be the municipality. County police said in a press release that Caprio’s mother, will offer personal reflections, and four fellow officers will also speak. A Baltimore Symphony Orchestra member, playing a trumpet solo.
Caprio will be buried at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens in Timonium.
