The father of a 5-year-old Ohio girl whose mother is charged with the murder of their daughter, the death is reported of the girl’s disappearance in a 911 call the day before her body was found in the family restaurant.
Zhao Liang is heard in the interview released on Thursday: he said that he can’t find, daughter Ashley Zhao and needs help. Police say the child’s body was on Tuesday found in the North Canton restaurant.
The police claims Mingming Chen beat her daughter several times with her fist Monday and the girl died. Court records are not a lawyer for Chen, who is from China.
Zhao Liang is charged with the aiding and abetting counts. His lawyer says he maintains his innocence.
A court has ordered that the couple’s 6-year-old daughter stay with the child welfare authorities for now.
Authorities say a woman charged with murder in the death of her 5-year-old daughter in Ohio is from China, is not a naturalized citizen of the u.s. and therefore would face deportation.
Ashley Zhao’s parents reported her missing Monday. Police say her body was found on Tuesday at the family’s restaurant in North Canton.
The police claims that the 29-year-old Mingming Chen struck Ashley in the face multiple times with her fist on the Monday morning, and the girl died.
Chen also is charged with felonious assault. The court records list no attorney for her.
Ashley’s father, the 34-year-old Zhao Liang, is charged with the aiding and abetting counts. The authorities say that he is a naturalized citizen. His lawyer says Zhao keeps his innocence.
The parents are jailed on $5 million bond.
The Archive of newspaper reports, family members of Zhao declined to comment to the court.
