NEWPORT, kentucky, Tennessee. – Authorities in Tennessee say they have recaptured in the sixth and final inmate who broke out of the prison on christmas day.
The Cocke County Sheriff’s Office tells the news media in a statement that the 54-year-old David Frazier was Wednesday arrested in Forsyth County, Georgia.
He is being held and awaiting extradition to Tennessee.
Deputies say six prisoners escaped from the prison early Sunday, after the removal of a toilet from the wall and goes through a hole behind that led to the outside of the facility.
Sheriff Armando Fontes said that prior plumbing repairs had separated from the concrete holding the toilet and the leaking water had rusted bolts.
Fonest said that five of the prisoners were recaptured by Monday night have been charged with vandalism and escape the jail.
