Las Vegas is going to rock a lot less, and for more than half a year.
For eight months, the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino will close its doors while it undergoes a renovation. The iconic Vegas location is expected to re-open, eight months later, even though it is going to be transformed by the new owners of the business.
The hotel and casino will be closing in February 2020, Fox 47 reports. The plan was originally to get to the hotel to get the most from the renovation, and are only shut down for four months. Unfortunately, it was decided that more time was needed.
In 2018 and beyond, Virgin Hotels bought the hotel and a huge, guitar and all. Renovations were originally scheduled to be phased out in the entire building, which would have allowed it to remain open for a few months now.

In a statement obtained by Fox 47, the HOUSE of Hospitality’s President and CEO, Richard Bozworth, said: “We have decided that a phased-in shutdown of four months, to be followed by an overall conclusion of the four months, it is not as efficient of a process of construction and also we provide the best service experience our guests deserve.”

His statement continued, “it is, Therefore, an approximation of the eight-month closure would be the most effective way to ensure a timely opening of by January, 2021. We have to be ready in October, but the construction is an imperfect process. Up until the beginning of February, by 2020, it is business as usual at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Virgin Hotels is in Las Vegas, promises to be one of the most exciting, vibrant, and have the expected properties, to be opened in Las Vegas in the years ahead.”
The hotel will be after the 2020 Super Bowl, which is scheduled for February 2 at the Hard Rock Stage in Miami, usa Today reports.

The Hard Rock Hotel and is expected to be rebranded as a Virgin’s house, after the renovations are complete, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported in April of 2018.
Among other things, The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino is well-known for being featured in the final game of the 1992 Rick Moranis movie, “Honey, I Blew up the Kid.”
