Photos of some of the AMERICAN passengers, were recently compromised in a data breach, and the U. s. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced Monday.

The federal agency said the license plate frames were exposed in the attack, but did not confirm the passengers’ photo was taken or how much was stolen at all.

In a statement sent to Fox News on Monday, a CBP spokesperson said: “On May 31, 2019, CBP has learned that a subcontractor is in violation of the AUTHORITY’s policies, and no AUTHORITY, permission or knowledge, and had transmitted copies of the registration images, and a traveller of the images collected by the AUTHORITY to the contractor a network of the company.”

“The sub-contractor’s network was compromised by a malicious cyber-attack,” the spokesman said, adding that the AUTHORITY’s systems were not compromised.

The spokesman did not identify the subcontractor.
