The 23-year-old homeless woman was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after they attacked two middle school students, and attempted to push one of them off a bridge into Ladera Ranch, Calif., on Friday afternoon, police say.
The victims, two members of the Capistrano Valley High School cross-country team, which were performed at the Crown Valley Parkway when she was attacked by Stephanie Redondo, who was trying to throw one of them over the railing of the Crown Valley Parkway bridge.

The teens were able to help the village of Redondo, and the deputies were called to the area at 4:00 p.m. on the Friday after several people called to report that someone was probably trying to jump off the bridge.
It is not clear as to what prompted her to attack the two boys, who were not injured during the encounter.
Redondo was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and was booked into the Orange County Jail. Her bail was set at $500,000.

“We are happy that the victims and witnesses were able to respond quickly, and are not a person who has a serious physical injury as a result of this incident,” Orange County, according to Police. “This is an important reminder of just how quickly a situation can escalate, and that personal safety should always be top-of-mind.”

They are expected to be arraigned on Tuesday.
