Stefan the Free is by coach Danny Blind after a long time of injuries included in the pre-selection of Orange. Other notable names are those of Terence Kongolo, Vurnon Anita, Kenny Tete and Bart Ramselaar.

Orange plays at 7 and 10 October in the world cup qualifier at home against belarus and France. The Free played in september 2015, his last international match. Against Turkey he suffered a heavy knee injury, which him almost a year to the hand held.

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is again not invoked. The striker was missing earlier against Greece (2-1 defeat) and Sweden (1-1), because the Blind into the striker prefers to Vincent Janssen and no pinchhitter can see in Huntelaar. Captain Arjen Robben is still missing because of injury.
