A retired Los Angeles police chief, is expected to be named Friday as the interim leader of the university of Chicago in force, according to the report.
“Charlie” Beck, 66, who left the GAME in June 2018, after more than 40 years with the department, will be in the position of Chicago police Superintendent Eddie Johnson, who on Thursday announced that he will retire at the end of the year, following three years as the city’s top cop.

Johnson, 60, a Chicago native, has been with the city force for more than 30 years of age.
Beck is the time you will be spending in the shadow of Johnson for a transitional period, and leads the Chicago division, to Mayor, Lori Lightfoot, names a permanent chief, the Chicago Tribune reported.

In Los Angeles, california, dr. Beck served under William Bratton, a former police commissioner in New York City, who received the credit for the dramatic decline of the Big Apple’s crime, before moving to California.
Beck’s time in the GAME, which can be the most important tools for the enforcement of the law, such as the 1992 riots sparked by the acquittal of the L. A.-officers attached to the Rodney King beating case.
Johnson’s decision to step down came as he faces an internal investigation after being found asleep in a car Nov. 17. The mayor later told the Chicago Sun-Times, Johnson had a couple of drinks with dinner that night.

His appointment to the top job by former Mayor, Rahm Emmanuel, was wrapped in controversy because Johnson was not only one of the three candidates for the position of the Chicago Police Board, and that Johnson had not even applied for the job in hand.

At the time, Leo had to deal with the consequences of the release of the video footage that showed a white police officer in the shooting of an unarmed black teenager to up to 16 times, killing him. The officer, Jason Van Dyke, was convicted of second-degree murder in October 2018, with the death of Laquan McDonald.
Lightfoot, who will succeed Emmanuel as mayor of the city in May, and is a former president of the police department of the city and of the board of directors.
