The former Belgian coach Waseige (79) passed away

The former Belgium coach Robert Waseige is on Wednesday at the age of 79 passed away. The-old-year-old was in the hospital with heart and kidney problems.

Waseige was in both the european CHAMPIONSHIPS of 2000 as well as the world CHAMPIONSHIPS, the 2002 national coach of Belgium. At this year’s European championship, which was held in the Netherlands and Belgium, in the pool, “The Red Devils” in the group stage.

At the world cup two years later in Japan and South Korea was the eighth-finals to the final destination. In the struggle for a kwartfinaleticket it was the later world champion Brazil, 2-0, to strong.

In the clubs it was Waseige coach of Winterslag, Standard Liege, Club, Liege, and Charleroi. With Sporting CP, and as the head coach of Algeria, he experienced two short-lived foreign adventures.

Waseige, who, in 1985, 1994, and 1995 coach of the year and was named in the Belgium, continued in 2005, with FC Brussels, is a point behind the trainerscarrière.
