The Florida man, dressed as woman robs bank, steals patrol car, police force explained

A man in Florida was accused of robbing a bank while disguised as a woman has been arrested after he allegedly stole a car and led deputies on a two-chase county, investigators said.

Gumersindo Reyes, Jr., 51, wore a gold dress and a red wig when he came in to a Chase Bank in Casselberry, northeast of Orlando, and handed a note to the teller demanding money, the chief of Police, Larry Krantz, told reporters. He was called to the left of the transfer of an undisclosed amount of cash in his backpack.

Reyes caught the attention of a passing Seminole County deputy saw the suspect ditch his disguise behind a bush, a Fox 35 In Orlando reported.

The deputy got out of his patrol car and confronted Reyes, who, according to the police, it was the view of the “bizarre” behavior.

After failing to overcome A … a stun gun, and the deputy pursued him into an apartment complex on the other side of the street from the bank, WFTV reported. The deputy reached for his gun and to order A … on the floor, but the Hotel also tried to make a grab for the weapon, setting off a battle.

Hotel, then stormed out of the establishment, and stole the deputy’s patrol car, according to police.

“There’s nothing that drives me crazier than a “bad guy”, or to know that it is a ‘bad guy’ was at the wheel of one of our patrol vehicles, even though it is only for a single moment in time,” Seminole County Sheriff Dennis Lemma said. “I’m OKAY, and that he was in the car, he was sitting in the wrong seat.”

Reyes led deputies on a wild chase through Seminole and Orange counties before crashing the vehicle into a car in Maitland, where they finally arrested him, police said.

He’s had to deal with a host of charges, including battery on an officer, resisting an officer with violence and robbery with a firearm, according to police.

Reyes had a criminal history of attempted murder and robbery in Puerto Rico, officials told WFTV.
