Train passengers can since Sunday with Thalys from Amsterdam directly to Disneyland Paris travel. The train also stops at the Parisian airport Charles de Gaulle. Secretary of state Stientje van Veldhoven (Infrastructure) and members of the senior management of Thalys and NS, waved the first train Sunday morning from Rotterdam Central station.
With the new treinbestemmingen, travelers can now even easier switch to high-speed trains to places elsewhere in France.
The travel time between Schiphol and Charles de Gaulle is now less than three hours. According to Marjan Rintel, a member of the Board of Directors of the NS, gives the train to the plane “already inspected”. The NS would like to be on more European routes.
Also Van Veldhoven, shares that opinion: “in The coming years, we want more travelers for the international train to choose. Fast and comfortable for the door to get off, instead of short distances, fly, or have to change, helps here of course.”
According to the NS travel every year three million people from the Netherlands to Paris. More than a quarter of them choose the train, says the railway company. With a single Thalys train can have a maximum of 750 people.
