NEW YORK – The father of two young children allegedly killed by their nanny has described the harrowing moments he learned of their death, just after his plane landed in New York Kennedy Airport.
Kevin Krim told jurors in the process of Yoselyn Ortega (YOH’-sih-lihn ohr-TAY’-guh) on Tuesday that if he turned off in airplane mode on his phone he was flooded with texts from concerned neighbors and friends.
He called it the “worst thing imaginable.”
Hours later in the hospital, the Crimea, with tears in his eyes described kissing his children goodbye as she lay dead on the stainless steel tables.
Ortega has pleaded not guilty to the fatal wound of the 2-year-old Leo Krim and 6-year-old Lucia Krim in October 2012. Prosecutors say that a motive might never be known.
