Ohio authorities were investigating after a dog was discovered injured and with her throat cut and her mouth and nose duct-tape it to the side of the road earlier this month.

The dog, named Dani, was spotted in a Feb. The 17 injured people in Middletown, a town about 25 miles south-southwest of Dayton, and was rushed to the hospital, the Butler County Sheriff’s Office said.

“A man came home from work in Middletown, and she darted into the road and he pulled over and was able to get to it,” Shari Wyenandt, with a HEART to Rescue (Cincinnati), told WXIX-TV. “She had her mouth taped and she was bleeding from the neck.”

The dog was rushed to a veterinarian’s office, where a microchip was found in the dog. The data indicate, This was in 2011, and for the salvation of the investigations, the officials said.

“It was horrible, words can’t describe the disgust I am feeling right now,” Sheriff Richard Jones said in a news release. “We will have to work hard in order to find out who did it and seek justice.”
