WASHINGTON (AP) – The top Democrat on the House Oversight and government Reform Committee, has a heart procedure and remains in the hospital for a few days.
The word is from the Rep. Elijah Cummings from Maryland. He says in a statement that he had what he calls a “minimally-invasive medical procedures” on Wednesday at the Johns Hopkins Hospital for the treatment of aortic stenosis.
The statement says that the procedure is called Trans-Arterial aortic valve replacement and is used to fix a narrowing of the aortic valve.
The legislature is expected to remain in the hospital for a few days.
