Claire Foy and Matt Smith, who in the first two seasons of The Crown the roles played, respectively, of queen Elizabeth and prince Philip, are again each other’s opponent. The actors are shown together in the play Lungs, which will be staged in London.
The play, according to Deadline, is described as an “emotional roller coaster that revolves around the environment”. Foy and Smith play a set that a baby gets in a world with melting ice caps, overpopulatie and political unrest.
Lungs will be played in The Old Vic Theatre in London. When the piece is premiered, it is still not known.
The two British actors are not to be seen in the upcoming season of The Crown, that in the second half of this year to see is on Netflix. Their roles will be in the next series taken over by other actors. Olivia Colman will be in season 3 and 4, the queen play, Tobias Menzies gets under the skin of prince Philip.
