The Correspondent raises enough money for English version

Ernst-Jan Pfauth and Rob Wijnberg in a month, 2.5 million dollar (over 2.2 million) will be retrieved. Through the successful fund-raisers is the English version of the journalistic website The Correspondent of the ground.

More than 42,000 people from more than 130 countries spent the money. “We can’t wait to be a cross-border drug against the delusion of the day for our members”, says a happy founder Rob Wijnberg.

The 32-year-old Pfauth and the 36-year-old Vineyard moved a year ago to the USA to investigate whether an English-language version of The Correspondent was viable. The journalistic platform started in 2013 in the Netherlands.

Among the ambassadors of The Correspondent are, among others, Jimmy Wales (founder of Wikipedia), actress Dutch actress Carice van Houten and David Simon (creator of The Wire).

The editorial team is in the coming time extensive and the site is expanded, so that The Correspondent, in the middle of next year may be launched. The journalists go looking for “answers to the big questions of our time.”

The new members could choose what amount they would transfer. The Dutch subscribers to The Correspondent to get the English version.
