(Reuters) – Chinese electric car maker BYD Co Ltd said on Tuesday opened its first plant in Canada to assemble buses for the Toronto Transit Commission, a public agency.
The Warren Buffett-backed company said that the 45,000-square-foot facility is located in the province of Ontario.
Last year, Reuters reported that the company plans to be the first Canadian-electrical-truck and plant is on hold, but was able to resurrect the project, when the electric-vehicle maker looks for a business case.
