A registered sex offender was arrested in Southern California on Tuesday, alleging the theft of a car with a father and his 1-year-old grandson, is still, according to a new report.

The suspect, identified as Brian Edward Hardy, is said to have been stolen from a parked car in Covina, Los Angeles County, at about 9 o’clock, however, the grandfather, was a short turn in the park, so that he could get on with his grandson, and before Hardy was able to drive it off, KABC-TV in Los Angeles reported.

Brian Edward Hardy faces charges of carjacking, kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon and evading police, authorities said.

Covina police said they caught up with Hardy, who drove straight to the race. He led the cops in a car chase through East Los Angeles, california, before he crashed into another car. The driver was admitted to the hospital, KABC reported.

Hardy faces charges of carjacking, kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon and evading the police.
