Spencer Matthews, a British reality star and brother-in-law Pippa Middleton, hid from the robbers who stormed a luxury watch store in London on Tuesday.
Former “Made in Chelsea” star and Matthews, 30, said in a since deleted Instagram story (via People) that the raid took place in The Hours of the House in Chelsea, London.
“I was there in picking up this vintage piece that I have been waiting for, for young and old and these guys drive with a scooter through the glass and start battering the shop with hammers, with huge hammers, the wearing of helmets,” Matthews said. “We sit in the back of the store looking at it, sprint down [and] hide in the safe, until all the noise.”

Matthews — brother of Middleton’s husband, James said that all the watches in the store were gone and that the property was “just scared” after the incident.
Local authorities confirmed Tuesday that three arrests were made in connection with the robbery and that one person was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
After all that, Matthews was still able to get his watch, that may be the only one of the robbers not to snag in the heist.

“Amongst all the rubble and all the glass and there is a watch in the whole store, and it is of me. Now, if that’s not happiness, I don’t know what it is,” he joked. Matthews admitted that he had “think twice” before ever entering the store with his young son, noting, “London in particular is dangerous at this time.”
