The boy will lose most of the hands on the 10-year anniversary, after a neighbor gives him a lit firework-report

As a young boy, is celebrating its 10th anniversary, was severely wounded after a neighbor presented him with a lit firework during a child’s birthday party in California.

Aaron Carreto, lost most of the fingers on his left hand during the July 6 incident, the burns on his stomach, hands and face. The 10-year-old was rushed to Long Beach Memorial Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery

His neighbor, Walter Revolorio, 27, was charged on July 9 with a felony count of child abuse under circumstances likely to cause great bodily harm or death, and one felony count of possession of a destructive device in a public place. A second suspect, remains under investigation by the authorities, KABC on Friday reported.

“They lit the fireworks and then they gave it to me,” Carreto told KABC. “The fuse went out, I looked at it, and then it popped in my hand like I was going to have to be disposed of.”

His sister, Adriana Carreto said one of the men, knocking him out of the home-made fireworks, and it gave him no time to respond to it, or throw it away.

“He has to tell his family how he feels betrayed by the people around us, and want to start a new life, far away from where he grew up,” she said.

Revolorio, is currently in pre-trial detention, and, had he pleaded not guilty. His bail has been set at $630,000, according to KABC.

The 10-year-old boy described by his sister as a GoFundMe page, and a social butterfly, who enjoyed playing football, riding his bike with the neighbors on the street and in the playing of the video game, Fortnite, with his classmates.

“This incident has changed his life, and a way of life, but they are not ghosts,” she said.

The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission says an average of 180 people are to go to the emergency room every day with fireworks-related injuries in the month around the 4th of July holiday.

According to KABC, Aaron, and Eggs and underwent two operations before he was transferred to UCI Medical Center in Orange, Calif., where doctors stitched his left arm into his stomach to regrow the lost tissue.

“He is currently recovering from the four surgeries he’s had so far,” his sister said. “He’s lost a hand-full.”

The young boy told KTLA-from his hospital bed that he wants to be the ones who are responsible for it in prison, so that they do not harm anyone else, and he doesn’t want to see them any more.

“I want to thank each and every one who helped my brother out of this horrible incident,” Adriana Carreto said in the post, the GoFundMe page on Thursday. “He’s making progress each and every day. For those of you who have the love and support of Aaron, and that is to give him the motivation to better themselves. I want to thank all of you for your support! God bless all of you!”
