Asia (AFC, Australia)

South Korea and Saudi Arabia have Tuesday as the seventh and eighth country qualified for the world cup next year in Russia. In the third and final round of the Asian zone runner-up both countries as second in their group, after, respectively, Iran and Japan, who already had a ticket. Thus, in Asia, nearly all cards are shuffled. The two numbers three of both groups, the surprising Syria and Australia, are still in a barrageduel from who to the intercontinental play-off should. Therein waits the number four from the CONCACAF zone.

Central – and Central America (CONCACAF)

Who that is, is still just guess work. In the Central and Central American preliminary round, only but Mexico sure of world cup participation. For the other two direct tickets offers Costa Rica by far the best paper: with still two matches to lose the five points ahead of Panama and six in the United States and Honduras. The kwartfinalist at the previous world cup plays at home against Honduras and Panama. The USA, and since 1990 there every time at the world cup, in their next match, at home against Panama on 6 October, best no points. On the last day are attracted to Trinidad and Tobago and receives Honduras Mexico.

South America (CONMEBOL)

Slightly lower on the world map to fight another five South American countries for three direct tickets. Brazil has been for quite some time sure of his place on the plane to Russia, but behind them are Uruguay (27 points), Colombia (26), Peru (24), Argentina (24) and Chile (23) – with just two days ahead of us – engaged in a wildly exciting fight. On 5 October, amongst others, the duels, Argentina – Peru, Venezuela – Uruguay and Colombia – Paraguay on the agenda.

Oceania (OFC)

But even those who are on the fifth place stranded in the South American zone, need not despair. That country must be an intercontinental play-off finish against the on paper weaker New Zealand. The ‘All Whites’ were in the final of the Oceanic preliminaries about two duels far too strong for the solomon Islands (8-3). New Zealand was already two times of the party at the world CHAMPIONSHIPS, in 1982 and 2010.

Europe (UEFA)

In Europe, there is still but one of the thirteen lucky ones known: Belgium. Our Red Devils to secure it with two days to go of the first place in group H. the group winners of the eight other groups are allowed into Russia, the eight best runner-ups play barrageduels. Germany, five points ahead of Northern Ireland in group C, and England, five points, Slovakia in group F, are best for. The by far most exciting group I, in which Croatia, Iceland (both 16 points), Turkey, and Ukraine (14) in a neck-to-nekrace are involved in. Among the most notable countries that are already mathematically eliminated are the Czech republic and Romania. Also, the Netherlands can no loss of points more afford.

Africa (CAF)

On the African continent should be even all five tickets are to be distributed. In the third and final round fight twenty countries in five groups of four for their town in Russia. No barrageduels or play-offs: the group win, in. With still two days to go, Tunisia, Nigeria and Egypt for the best papers. Also the côte d’ivoire national coach Marc Wilmots has in group C still has everything in their own hands, but the Elephants can no slip afford. In group D Burkina Faso (6), cape Verde (5), Senegal (5) and South Africa (4) – is everything still open. Hugo Broos and Cameroon, the winner of the last Africa Cup, are disabled.
