Package stolen from the woman on the sidewalk contained dad’s ashes

Arizona woman is devastated after her father’s remains were stolen from her front porch.

A $10,000 reward is being offered by the post after someone stole a package with a man who is the axis of the door of his daughter’s home in Arizona.

Elyse Brink told Tucson News Now that her neighbor saw the package on her front porch Tuesday, but when she came home, it was gone. She searched the area, including nearby garbage cans, to no avail. Brink was planning a trip to California for the shaft of her brother.

“This was the last step in the process of me saying goodbye to my father and make the arrangements and send him home here. And to know that he was so close and then taken. It just breaks my heart,” she said.

The package should not be left on the porch without a signature, the Oklahoma City funeral home, told Tucson News Now.

Officials with the U. S. Postal Inspection Service said they launched a probe since the package is not left on the porch without someone signing for it.

Brink hopes that the ashes be returned.

“They are a physical reminder of him,” she said, adding that if she gets the urn back, “he would be proud of me.”
