An American driver has been arrested in Texas after border agents found 53 illegal immigrants from Mexico and other countries south of the U.S. border and hidden in a sweltering tractor-trailer, authorities said Friday.
The unidentified driver was the only one visible to the other occupants in the vehicle and pulled on to Interstate Highway 35 (IH-35) of the check point north of Laredo on Tuesday, the U. s. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) said in a statement.

A dog alerted border agents to the scent of the hidden person or drugs, from the inside of the trailer during a primary inspection of the vehicle, the CPB said. Upon further investigation, agents said they found 53 immigrants from Mexico, Ecuador, Guatemala, honduras, El Salvador and Honduras, which are all illegal in the United States of america.”
The temperature in the trailer was recorded at 105 degrees at the time of the discovery, even though no one required medical attention, according to the CPB.
