Toni Morrison, a nobel prize laureate and author of Beloved, Jazz and Paradise, was Monday, at the age of 88, has died.
The writer died after a short illness, writes the Vulture to france. It is not known what illness she was suffering.
Morrison was born as Chloe Ardella Wofford was known in 1988 published the novel Beloved, for which she’s most prestigious pulitzer prize, was present. In 1992, it came to Jazz, and in 1997, in Paradise. Of the three books in the shapes very loosely, a trilogy.
In 1993 Morrison awarded Nobel prize for Literature. Thus, she became the first black woman to which it has been received.
Before them, a well-known author, was worked to the Missionaries for nineteen years as an editor at the publishing company, Random House. There, she broke down the case for a new generation of black writers, including Gayl Jones and Angela Davis.
Toni Morrison was a national treasure, and as good a storyteller as captivating in person as she was on the page. Her writing was a beautiful, meaningful challenge to our conscience and our moral imagination. What a gift to breathe the same air as her, if only for a while.
