KNOXVILLE, Tennessee. – Police in Tennessee say that a 13-year-old boy has been charged with murder in the fatal shooting of his 12-year-old brother.
Knoxville police said officers were called to the house Tuesday night and found the 12-year-old death. A press release on the department Facebook page, said it initially appeared that the boy shot himself. But later it became clear that the death a murder.
The 13-year-old was charged Wednesday morning with first-degree murder and was held in the juvenile detention. The names of the brothers not to be released.
Knoxville police chief David Rausch told the media that the boys were the only ones home at the time of the shooting. He would not say how the boy got access to a gun.
