For a woman to take out her trash, found the baby, who was believed to have been born just a few hours earlier, and that it was no more than a day or two, Fox 4 reported.

“In other words, the child was just kind of a waste there,” the forest hills branch of the Police department Lt Christopher Cook told the news outlet. “That’s when the box was opened, but the child did not seem to be in need of help. So that’s what prompted her to call 911.”

The baby was taken to a hospital and was expected to survive.

“Number one, the container is closed, and it’s hot outside,” Cook added. “There’s no telling if she wasn’t trash at that point in time in the morning, we could be talking about a totally different scenario at the moment.”
