A trooper with the Texas Department of Public Safety was shot in the hand Tuesday night in an apartment complex in Harris County, police said.

The authorities in Texas on Tuesday said they arrested three suspects after a Department of Public Safety trooper was shot in the hand at a Harris County apartment complex.
The unknown soldier was rushed to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, an agency spokesman told the Houston Chronicle.
It was unclear why the police at the Harris County apartment complex, and what is the reason for the shooting. The officials will not say whether the trooper or other police returned fire.

After the shooting, one of the suspects barricaded themselves in the apartment complex with children, Houston station KHOU-TV reported, citing sources close to the case.
FOX26 Houston reports that a suspect was shot and their condition is unclear.
The police confirmed all the suspects were taken into custody.
