A Texas state trooper, died on Saturday, nearly five months after he was shot while responding to a car accident earlier this year.
Trooper Moises Sanchez, 49, was struck around the 6th of April, in Edinburgh, in Hidalgo County, officials said. He had been invited to a two-vehicle collision investigations, at around 8:45 p.m. when a driver of one of the vehicles, such as Victor, Alejandro Godinez fled the scene and allegedly shot the Guard.

Godinez was originally charged with three counts of attempted capital murder of a peace officer, but is now facing a capital murder charge following the Guard’s death.

The guard, who was stationed in Palmview, “has shown great strength and courage to be a Texas trooper,” according to the Texas Department of Public Safety Director Steven McCraw. “We will honor his selfless service and sacrifice is forever.”
The trooper’s rehabilitation has been worked out in the Facebook posts, the state Department of Public Safety and security. In June, he was moved to a rehab center in Houston, texas.
