Texas police officers, firefighters rally to save children’s party

A Texas mother is coming from her town, the police and the fire department for the rescue of her son’s birthday.

Jennifer Day and her husband baked pies and pizza bought for their son, Graham’s eighth birthday Sunday in Hurst, but no one that was invited showed up to celebrate, The Dallas Morning News reported.

“This always happens,” Day said her son told her in a “broken voice.” She added that two years ago the same thing happened to Graham.

The mother then went on a district’s website and a plea for the people to attend the party, but still no comments.

Day and her husband drove to the Hurst Police headquarters and asked if any officers – that her son has always aimed to be – would come visit.

AFTER NO FRIENDS TO SHOW IT TO THE BOY’S BIRTHDAY PARTY, POLICE COME TO THE RESCUE

The station throughout the shift showed up at her home, together with a number of firefighters along the street with patrol cars and fire engines, The Dallas Morning News reported.

The group went inside to eat cake and sing “Happy Birthday” to Graham. Different families that eventually saw the message posted online also showed with their children to celebrate.

“There is no way I can pay what they did for his broken heart,” Day told the newspaper.
