Texas man gets drug charges cleared after suspect meth turns out to be cat litter

A Texas man had a drug charges dropped after authorities discovered that the alleged methamphetamine found in his possession was actually cat litter.

KETK-TV reported Saturday that the authorities in Harris County made the discovery of at least half a pound of cat litter during a traffic stop in the beginning of December. Deputies arrested Ross LeBeau think the cat litter is methamphetamine.

The litter is found in one of LeBeau’s socks, which he used for his windshield from fogging. LeBeau got some problems after the test results came back positive for methamphetamine.

A Harris County forensic lab, conducted a third test and showed the dust to cat litter. The case against LeBeau was fired.

LeBeau lost his job due to the drug arrest, but he said that he doesn’t blame the deputies.

“She thought that she had the largest bust in Harris County,” LeBeau added. “This was the failure of the year for them.”
