A Texas man was arrested on child abuse charges after he allegedly used a leash to tie to a 6-year-old to have a garage door, and hit the child with a hammer, resulting in a visible “bruises” on his legs, police said.

He commented, ” Shane Winans, 25, was arrested on suspicion of causing injury to a child with intent to commit bodily harm last week after a days-long investigation by the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office, it turned out that he was repeatedly abusing a family member over an indefinite period of time, the San Angelo Standard-Times reported.

According to a statement obtained by the paper, the police went to a residence on the 8th of August, after receiving a report of child abuse in the home. A woman claimed that she knew that her son had visible bruises on both legs, but the boy doesn’t want to tell you how he got them.

The responding officer took a closer look at the brands and found several linear bruises were “consistent with blunt force trauma,” court documents revealed.

During the observations, the victim reportedly told the deputy that a male family member, “tied him to a door with a dog leash.”

The next day, a second witness spoke to investigators and claimed that the boy was tied to a door by the waist, while a man, later identified as the Winans, and went to the store. Winans, told police in a later interview that he did, in a tie with the guy on a leash, but only “in an attempt to get him to the exit of the corner,” the Standard-Times reported.

He said that he had the line, “it was not too tight.”

However, a court affidavit states that the boy told the police that the line was so tight that he couldn’t breathe.” It is, reportedly, left a temporary mark on the victim’s waist. A witness told police that the boy had been tied up before, “maybe in 15 minutes.”

Other reports of abuse have surfaced during the investigation of the police department. The boy claimed that the clothes hangers and bottles are being thrown at him, but he refused to say why, but told the authorities, only I was asleep … and things are going to happen.”

A witness told police that she also witnessed Winans allegedly struck the child on his feet with the aid of the handle of a hammer, according to the affidavit.
