“The data is there, it’s all there for you, with cameras in and around your car, all of the data points will be there,” Matthew Edmonds, Tesla’s Head of Assurance, said he was in a vehicle insurance coverage conference to be held in Chicago.
“It really comes down to the case-law is, and how much of the data that we will be able to use it. It would be a state-by-state proposition,” Edmonds said.
Tesla said last week that it was launching an insurance service that is designed for drivers in California, its largest market, and lower rates of safety-related functions in electrical vehicles.
