(Reuters) – Tesla Inc. (TSLA.(O) plans to unveil its electric pick-up truck, “cybertruck,” on Nov. 21, in Los Angeles, in the vicinity of the rocket of the SpaceX factory, the Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk tweeted, here on Wednesday.

Musk said in January that Tesla is ready to unveil the truck in the summer.

“Cybertruck, it doesn’t look like something I’ve seen bouncing around the Internet. Rather, it is an armored personnel carrier of the future,” Musk said in a tweet last month.

Automakers, including Ford Motor Co (F. N) and General Motors Co. (GM.(N), are racing to design a radical new take on their most lucrative pick-up truck models, the replacement of the petrol engines powered by batteries, in an attempt to outflank his plan to eclipse their brands.

The Ford F-150 pickup and GM’s Chevrolet Silverado were the top selling vehicles in the U.S. market.

The reveal was going to happen one day before the Los Angeles Auto Show, open to the public, according to its web site https://laautoshow.com.
