Terminal at Frankfurt Airport evacuated after family accidental security breaches

The unrest began after a French family of four was wrongly allowed to be in a secure environment, although they are the mandatory security checks.

The police evacuated part of a terminal at Germany’s busiest airport Tuesday after a security guard wrongly allowed a French family who had not completed the required security controls in a safe environment.

Federal police flights of boarding and kept passengers out of An area of the Frankfurt Airport, Terminal 1 for about two hours, because of a fear that at least one person had entered without being screened.

The police tweeted that the lunch evacuation was prompted by a security assistant mistakenly so that the French family of four in the protected area, although they were supposed to be subject to a secondary screening.

The family was located, questioned and allowed to continue on his journey, the police added.

The terminal resumed operation as normal about two hours after the partial evacuation was imposed.

Lufthansa, the largest German airline, said around 7,000 passengers were affected by the delays and cancellations and that had booked 2,000 hotel rooms as a precaution in case people could not be placed on a later plane.

He also said that a number of flights had to leave Frankfurt empty, so that they would be at their destination airports at the right time to keep on schedule.
