Tennessee Amber Alert: New photos of ex-teacher kidnapped student released

New photos were released Monday of the former teacher in Tennessee and the female student he is accused of the kidnap, when researchers tried to “increase the urgency” of the matter and bring in new tips for the trail goes cold.

“It’s been a week, but we are not giving up hope. Stay vigilant, stay alert and let us know if you spot these individuals or this vehicle,” the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation posted on Twitter about the disappearance of 15-year-old Elizabeth Thomas.

THE SECOND AMBER ALERT FOR TENNESSEE TEEN WHO DISAPPEARED WITH HER TEACHER

The agency has been searching for the blonde-haired student and a 50-year-old Maury County Schools teacher Tad Cummins since March 13. The TBI has a second Amber Alert for the girl and the researchers believe Cummins is possible kidnapped girl to “potentially sexually exploit her.”

The TBI released surveillance images of the suspect days before the kidnapping.

A statement from the bureau, Saturday, added, “Nothing investigators have learned about Cummins or his intentions for the young girl that since the issuing of the AMBER Alert-soothes the looming concern for Elizabeth’s well-being. In fact, it is only but increase.”

The photos released Monday show Cummins, wearing a green camouflage hat and a Navy blue jacket, walking around in a store.

Cummins was believed to be armed with two pistols, Fox 17 Nashville reports.

TBI reported Cummins took a $4,500 cash loan before they disappear. He was caught kissing Thomas at the school on Jan. 23, the lawyer of Elizabeth’s father, Anthony Thomas, told The Columbia Daily Herald.

Lawyer Jason Whatley said school officials knew a day later, but could Cummins to keep teaching until Feb. 6 while they investigated, the paper reported.

The school district fired Cummins, the day after his disappearance, according to Fox 17.

“The TBI has received about 250 tips from the 24 states,” he said in the statement. “The low number of tips, combined with the limited resources that Cummins is believed to have in his possession, leading researchers to believe he can keep her out of sight of the general public.”

Cummins on the state of the ‘Top 10 most Wanted’ list with a $1,000 reward for information leading to his capture.
