Raw video: Divers search for girl allegedly thrown in the river

Tampa Bay Times reports that a 4-year-old girl died after she was thrown from a bridge into Tampa.

A Florida mother who allegedly threw her 4-year-old daughter in a river in Tampa, Florida, is charged with murder, police said Thursday.

The girl, referred to as Your’Hyrah Daniels was cast in the Hillsborough River around 4 p.m. after her mother bathe in the water, according to the Tampa Bay Police Department.

Rescue divers pulled the unconcious girl out of the water almost a half an hour later and she was rushed to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The police said the girl’s mother, 26-year-old Shakayla Denson, had just stolen from a Nissan Altima of an autoshop before they “bathe” in the water with Daniels. “About halfway across the river, she threw the child and began to wade,” police added.

Denson was spotted walking in the neighborhood and was taken into custody. She has since been charged with first-degree felony murder, aggravated child abuse and grand theft auto.

The police Brian Dugan called the incident “completely tragic.”

“It is a crazy world we live in,” he said.
