Switzerland test train without a driver
The Swiss Railways (SBB) trains run without a driver. It is a trial that fits in with the ongoing digitisation, to which numerous projects are in the pipeline.
That told director Andreas Meyer Monday during a presentation in Zurich. He thinks with more efficient techniques, the capacity of the railway network, with 30 percent to increase.
“The railway industry by means of 2025, the deployment of more trains, resulting in a fuller timetable, less interference, better connection and more accurate passenger information,” says Meyer. The SBB is working on the development of a digital signal, wants, escalators, lifts and the light on the drives remotely manage and customers for the freight transport on the keep abreast of, inter alia, the temperature and the shaking of the wagons if that is of importance for the load.
