Suspended Platini should give a speech before his successor is chosen

Former UEFA president Michel Platini Wednesday will hold a speech at the extraordinary meeting of the European football association, where his successor is chosen.

Platini is for a four-year ban by FIFA, but UEFA had to the ethics committee of wereldvoetbalbond asked whether the Frenchman in Athens was permitted to speak.

The European football association reported Monday that it has received approval.

Platini explained in may his role as UEFA president is permanently down after sporttribunaal CAS decided to make his suspension will not lose to scold.

The 55 in the UEFA affiliated countries vote Wednesday for a new chairman. KNVB chairman Michael van Praag and the president of the Slovenian football federation Aleksander Ceferin are the two candidates.
